Review Of Emjoi AP-9L Epi Slim Epilator

Review Of Emjoi AP-9L Epi Slim EpilatorHow is the Emjoi AP-9L Epi Slim Epilator compared to the others in the same niche? The Emjoi brand of epilators have been getting very popular in recent years compared to the other big names that also make these hair removal devices, like Braun and Philips, which are multi-national conglomerate corporations which don’t specialize on epilators. Obviously the Braun Silk Epil 7 series and the Philips models are still among the most popular, but with the 72 tweezer head Emagine, Emjoi is really carving out a chunk of the market for itself. The model number AP-9L which goes by the other name Epi Slim is the other really popular model of epilators to come out.

My Review

Instead of just reading what is said about it on the websites that are just repeating what is written about the Epi Slim (AP-9L) I wanted to go see what is written on the Emjoi website. What does the primary seller and company say about it? It turns out that this model doesn’t have a lot of great features like some models.

First, let’s look at the design of the Epi Slim. This device is very small and thin. The product dimensions of it are 1.5 inches by 1 inch by 5.5 inches. This is a type of electrical device that is for the handling of hairs on women, and intended specifically for women. That is why it is so thin in width and depth, but still long.

As for the head, it is not very complicated. It does have a very high spinning speed. The value is 20,700 rotations per minute. So it spins very fast. Emjoi claims that they have the highest number of tweezes per minute however that is not completely true since we saw in other Emjoi models like the Emagine and the Soft Caress that the rotations per minute was even higher. Of course those epilator model had much more metal tweezer discs. This model the AP-9 Epi Slim has only 9 tweezers.

There is no fingers on the head so the hairs that the spinning discs touch are not lifted up. This means that ingrown hairs are a very serious issue for anyone who is thinking of choosing this model over the others which have the feature of lifting up the hairs.

The model does not have any type of speed control. There is no 2nd speed which would make it faster or slower. The button in the middle is just to turn it on or off, but nothing else.

In terms of power source, the model is only battery powered. There is no AC Adapter to turn it into a corded power electrical device. The battery used are 2 AA batteries, which are not included when you buy the Epi Slim. What is included with the model is a cleaning brush

As for the actual use of the device, this model was designed to work on the delicate areas of the body. This means that it will work on the bikini line area, the underarms or armpits, the legs, the upper lip, the chin, and the cheek.

What is probably not revealed in the specifications but is in the owners manual (which is HERE) is that this model even though it is for the delicate, more sensitive areas of the body is not supposed to be used in wet situations. You can’t get the head wet or use it in the shower. I guess the design of this model does not make it waterproof.

So what do other people think of the Emjoi Epi Slim model?

This model might not be as popular as the other models because there is less reviews but it seems to be just as good overall. Almost half of all teh reviews have given it the best ratings. For the people who have had some problems with it, it seems that the Epi Slim Epilator cut and scraped their skin and the result were all these red scraping scars that was left on the side of their face. Some models seems to have suddenly stopped working. The only other major issue was that some people complained that it didn’t seem to be able to remove all the hair in the skin area that they passed through.

Would I recommend the Epi Slim AP-9L to another person?

I would recommend it but I would need to remind the user that the epilator was specifically designed to be used on the more sensitive and delicate areas of the body. The number of tweezers that it does have, which is only 9 means that you won’t ever use the model to remove hair on your legs or entire torso because there is just not enough head space or tweezers. It would take too long. This is to be used mostly on the bikini line area and the underarms or armpits. You want to use this model only for removing hair from the sensitive areas of the body which is small in area.
